In a perfect world, I’d live the life of these dogs: Living in Boston during the week with weekends on the vineyard. Hours spent exploring the miles of gorgeous trails in Chilmark. Cared for by wonderfully loving owners. What a wonderful life – and these are such sweet, beautiful dogs.

Otto is the wire-haired dachshund – my husband wants his nickname to be professor. Ruby is a sweet, old German Short-haired Pointer. It was a privilege to photograph these two!

We’re back from a wonderful, relaxing vacation. My husband and I took all three dogs to my favorite Martha’s Vineyard cottage and spent the week exploring the beaches and off-road hikes across the island. I’ll soon post a bunch of photos from a shoot that I had on the island and some more beach shots of Katy – she’s an awesome beach dog and great wave runner.

Vacation Time

Rather than packing for our vacation, I’m sorting through all of my old digital photo files. The shot above is from deep in the pre-DSLR days. Taken with my old, trusty Olympus C-5050 back in September of 2004. At one of my most favorite places in the entire world, Lucy Vincent Beach on Martha’s Vineyard.

We’re heading down to visit my parents in Florida. Looking forward to meeting old/new friends and their dogs (yeah!), soaking up some sun and relaxing for a few days. And, I rented a couple of lenses that are being delivered to my parents house. It will be fun to experiment with an alternative practical lens (the 24-70mm f/2.8) and a super fish-eye lens.
